I took a trip to the spectacles shop today!

Had a difficult time trying to choose the perfect pair of spectacles, and after eons in the shop, settled for this pair!

The optician , Mr Lee, was really nice as he didn't mind me being so curious about how spectacles work incorrecting myopia, and answered all my numerous questions patiently.

Hmm apparently spectacles work by re-focussing rays of light entering the eye so that the retina, which is the part of the eye that receives the image, has clear and un-blurred vision.

My spectacles lens are concave, while convex lenses fix long-sightedness (hypermetropia).

The measurement of the focussing power of a lens is expressed in dioptres. From what i learnt from Mr Lee, lens with the power of one dioptre has a focal distance of one metre.

For my case, the dioptres of my spectacles lens is negative and the lens help to spread out light to correct near-sightedness.

Thus the spectacles correct, or rather, re-focus my blurred vision!

I'm extremely pleased, there's not need to squint I watch television, and certainly no more cases of not being able to recognise people from afar!

i found out a few way to prevent myopia from worsening too!
maybe you all can learn some tricks! =]
